If you’re happy with the work a company has done, sharing that experience with your friends and family is a small gesture that makes a huge impact. You’ve probably heard the saying, “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me.” Well, that couldn’t be further from the truth. Think about it: if 100 people gave you compliments and one person said something negative, which comment would linger in your mind? Exactly—the one negative comment.
As a small family business supporting five families (and five future families), we take every review to heart. When we receive a negative review, it stings. What’s even harder to understand is why someone wouldn’t call us directly to resolve an issue before leaving a review. I believe there should be an unspoken “review etiquette”—talk to the company, give them a chance to make things right before resorting to public critique.
But, I choose JOY! Thank you to our wonderful friends, neighbors, and loyal customers for constantly encouraging us with your positive words. Your reviews and referrals remind us to focus on the good. There are already enough “Debbie Downers” in the world, and I’m committed to not joining their ranks. It’s tough sometimes, especially because I genuinely want everyone to be happy and get along.
To everyone who supports us and lifts us up with positive reviews: we appreciate you more than you know. You’re the reason we keep pushing forward.
A special shoutout to our amazing crew—Jose, William, Colby, David, Ana Maria, Frank, Luke, Mason, Clayton, and Isaac—you are the backbone of Bear’s Plumbing. We couldn’t do this without you!
