Another Cracked Vortens Toilet Avoided in Creekside Park

Well… the cracked Vortens toilet issue just keeps lingering around our area.

Recently, we helped a homeowner in the Creekside Park neighborhood of Spring who made a very smart and proactive decision regarding the toilets in her home.

And honestly? I was proud of her.

This customer had already educated herself on the known issues surrounding certain Vortens toilets that were installed in many newer construction homes throughout our area. Instead of waiting for one to crack and flood her home, she decided to take action ahead of time and replace them proactively with new Kohler toilets.

Well done.

For those who may not know, we’ve seen numerous cases where these Vortens toilets develop cracks unexpectedly due to known manufacturing defects. And unfortunately, when they crack, it’s rarely a small leak.

They can flood bathrooms, damage flooring, soak sheetrock, and create major headaches for homeowners — often with very little warning.

That’s why I always appreciate customers who choose prevention instead of emergency cleanup.

Sometimes plumbing maintenance isn’t glamorous. It’s simply making wise decisions before something fails.

And in this case, replacing those toilets before there was damage was absolutely the right call.

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is this:
👉 The cheapest fixture installed by a builder can sometimes become the most expensive problem later.

If your home was built in the years when these toilets were commonly installed and you’ve noticed any hairline cracks, unexplained leaking, or concerns about your toilets, it may be worth having them evaluated before you end up with water where it doesn’t belong.

Because trust me… toilets should only flush. Not flood homes. 💙
